Secondary School in Madrid

Why choose us?

Secondary Education is a key stage in our students’ development, where they consolidate their knowledge and build essential skills for both their academic and personal future.

During these years, students gain greater independence, strengthen their critical thinking, and begin to define their interests and goals. At the same time, they develop values such as responsibility, effort, and respect, as well as essential social skills through daily interaction and teamwork.

At Willoughby International School, we maintain a strong commitment to English. By Year 11 (4º ESO), students are prepared to reach the highest level of the Cambridge examinations: Proficiency. At the same time, all core subjects continue to be taught in Spanish, enabling students to maximise their potential and achieve a high level of proficiency in both languages.

Our teaching approach is flexible and adapted to the needs of each subject and group. Our highly committed teaching team carefully designs every lesson using active methodologies that encourage participation, independent thinking, and meaningful learning.

We strongly believe in the holistic development of our students. Throughout the academic year, we organise volunteering activities, educational trips, and social initiatives that help students become more aware of the world around them and develop empathy, gratitude, and social responsibility.

Through experiences such as food bank collaborations, food collection campaigns, and companionship programmes for the elderly, students learn the importance of contributing positively to society.

At Willoughby International School, we aim to provide not only an excellent academic education, but also the personal tools students need to face future challenges with confidence, maturity, and resilience.

Benefits of Our Secondary Approach

Our Secondary programme combines strong academic preparation with personal growth and bilingual excellence.

Students continue developing advanced communication skills in both English and Spanish while preparing for internationally recognised Cambridge qualifications. At the same time, they are encouraged to become autonomous learners capable of critical thinking, problem-solving, and effective collaboration.

We place strong emphasis on values education, emotional wellbeing, and social awareness, helping students become responsible, compassionate, and globally minded individuals.
